Eight Months In - But Who's Counting?

Uh, yeah...I am.

You know what the number 8 looks like when it is on its side?

Just keepin' it real.

So, in the spirit of my newfound desire to make use of this time waiting instead of frittering it away being pissed off...here are eight things I'd like to accomplish in the next 8 months:

1. Paint & decorate BabyZ's room-to-be

2. Sew up the Bai Jia Bei

3. Tighten up the budget and tuck away a nice little chunk to show for it

4. Strengthen my back and increase my energy level because parenting is an endurance event

5. Look into becoming a Home Study Social Worker

6. Throw a Tupperware Party

7. Reconnect with my garden

8. Learn how to make Red Velvet Cake (I'd like to have it at our baby shower)

  1. Home Study Social Worker? Way good. Cheers to that. But Tupperware party? Now that I think of it....I can see that. Let me know when - we may need a trip out to Cali! xo

Looks like a good list! The social worker deal sounds great--good luck! We also have to do the room and the quilt and get into parenting shape.

I'm ignoring the infinity reference today.....:)

Red Velvet Cake is my absolute favorite of all time.

And home study social worker? That is beyond awesome.

I am with you on the back strengthening. I know the swimming is doing something, but I think I need some strength training as well.

  7. That cake looks so good. Not sure that I've ever tried it.
I'm starting the nursery in the spring. And probably the quilt, too. Well , my grams is... I'm not that crafty with the sewing thang.

  9. First off congrats on 8 months - no matter which way it is posed...

I have never heard of red velvet cake!

I too have thought about becomming a Home study social worker - with all the trouble we had trying to find one to help us - I am sure there is a need for it out there.

There are some other points on your list that we need to do, but we have LOTS of time!

    Happy 8!

Red Velvet cake is Ryan's favorite. I finally made one this year that wasn't compared to his mom's. That is a step in the right direction. If it is the last thing I do I am going to make one just like his mother's! :)

Sounds like you have a busy list.

Well, 8 is better than 7, or 6, or 5 for that matter!

I would like to reconnect with my garden...not sure if it wants to reconnect with me, though.

  17. Ok, I have most of those same goals for someday, if not in the next year. Go for it! I will live vicariously through your accomplishments!

  18. Oh Yum....Red Velvet cake is SO yummy. I think you need 2 bottles of red food coloring to make it that way. I made it once, but it was maybe 7 or 8 years ago...hmm...seems like a good thing to try again!
And yeah...#2! Bai Jia Bei! It's time!!!!

  19. Woohoo on 8 down!

Love the list...but would have to hold on the last one because if I made it I would never get it out of the house. I'd eat the damn thing ;0)

Keep us posted about your progress.

  21. Happy 8!

Are you going to add to the list every month? If you are, I think #9 should be going to more concerts while you can, or teaching me how to sew - you pick. :)

Congrats on your 8th monthaversary!!! BTW, there is a box mix of velvet cake that I've actually tried and it is EXACTLY like home made!!! I don't remember who makes it, but it's one of the biggies (Duncan Hines, Betty Crocker, etc.) Fo' Shizzle ;)

After reading many homestudies done by the SW at my school, I imagine it would make you feel so much more satisfied with your own life. It is a scary world out there. Let us know when you get that quilt done. I'm still looking at all the squares in a pile on the floor!
