Very Good Intentions

A little while back I posted a list here with eight things that I wanted to accomplish within the next eight months. I am very surprised by how powerful doing that was. I'm actually ticking things off of the list! And, it has only been a month and a half!!!

Wow.

I've tried hard to be intentional in my life. Usually my intentions are conversations and plans that I have with myself. Stuff that I know that I'm doing but nobody else necessarily does. A groovy friend of mine suggests that when you put your intentions out "to the universe" - you will see results. I suppose that is what I did back in January when published that list for all of blog-land to see.

Perhaps shouting out intentions is more effective than whispering them?

So far: I've started learning the Red Velvet Cake, I've begun sewing up the Bai Jia Bei, we've been totally on save-mode and managed to put one whole paycheck into savings last month, baby's room is getting prepped....

And, I've been reconnecting with my garden!

Look at my happy plants:

Tulips poking out

Sedum raring to go

Rosebushes thank me for pruning them with lovely buds

The Snowdrops are a reminder that Spring is coming!

I think that Martha would be proud of my Hellebore

Foxgloves waking up

And beautiful fiddleheads ready to stretch

Still need to work on a few things such as getting back in the damn gym.

There, I said it. Actually, I shouted it. Now I really gotta do it.

Wow! Your garden is wonderful!! I can't wait to see green again!

Your post reminded me of 'The Secret' Have you read that book? I keep hearing about it, I think I am going to have to check it out.

I TOTALLY believe in putting your intentions out into the universe. Do NOT be hard on yourself about the gym -- look at how much you've already accomplished!. One person can only do so much. You need to absorb the change and enjoy it, not just stuff everything in.

The garden is gorgeous. Thank you so much for those lovely glimpses of spring on a day where I am look out at snow and more snow.

Your garden is springing to life! My roses are leafing out, too. I can hardly wait for those first blooms.

You rock with the hellebores!! I wish I could grow those, but the desert is rather unforgiving...

my groovy acupuncturist has everyone write up their 'universe' lists in three stages: Things I want to do; Things I want to be; Things I want to have. She also likes to talk about goals in three sizes--small, medium, and "B-HAGS" (Big, Hairy, Audacious, Goals). I love my acupuncturist. :)

Your garden is making me want Spring....

Wow - how great that your garden is starting! Mine is covered with snow still!

I wish spring would just get here already!

I so wish I lived where you do right now. The snow and cold here are on my very last nerve!

Is for being intentional.... I love it, I believe it and I try my best to live it. Glad you are experiencing something good in your process.

It will be a few months until I see any green here. Thanks for the spring pick-me-up. It really helps remind me of what is to come while I look out at all the snow.

I was going to say what AM said, so I'll add.. You also inspire, and I may be adding my things to do to the blogosphere.

I don't know who your groovy friend is, but she's absolutely right... Keep stating your intentions, put them all out there, and then be ready to receive everything you're looking for...

Oh, and add me to list of jealous people who still have a bunch of snow left and have 2 months to go before seeing anything grow!!! :)

It says a lot that you can put your intentions into action. Maybe I will exercise tonight... hmmmmm

Have you heard of the book (and DVD) called The Secret? Pretty much about putting your intentions out to the universe. It's very cool and obviously working for you!

Perhaps your intentions need to be tended to just as your garden. Time, patience and gentle care along with the basic necessities in order for growth to happen.

Thanks for sharing your green...
