Shan wai you shan

Beyond this mountain, there is always another.

Millicent/DifferentDirt gave me this quote which became a mantra for me as we hiked Mt Hood in Oregon. Of course, for me, the message directly relates to the adoption process that has dominated my thoughts for a long, long time. It is a reminder that once we hit the peak, reach our goal and (finally) become a family of three - we will likely sit on that Life's Summit with a similar view as above. One that is hazy, perilous, demanding...and extraordinarily beautiful.

I felt like this quote went really well with the one on walternatives's blog today...that we always think that when we reach a summit, it's our destination, we're done. But it's just a journey to another mountain, no?

Food for thought. So true. Thank you.

And we'll just keep hiking until that day when we trade our boots for wings...

Lovely quote. Stunning photo.

Hmmmmm, that's a good one and very representative of the adoption process.

Catching up here. I love the quote, too. I guess it can go either way, sometimes you want another "mountain" and sometimes, you just don't. At this point, I am considering some explosives!

Just wanted to say that the whole quote should be something like:
"shan wai you shan, tian wai you tian".
Beyond mountain there are mountains beyond ski/heaven there are skies/heavens.
