Semi Wordless Wednesday - Love to Cleo

Cleo was our Queen.

We miss her. Iris lay alongside the cat carrier after we came home that day. That very sad February 9th afternoon. She sat there all day.

She misses her Cleo momma.

And we do, too. So much. Her absence is a subtle, sorrowful ache that brings a sad, very sad tear. Many tears, actually. She'd been through so much...too much to type here. I always knew that I loved her, we all did - but I do feel sorry that she ended up in the background of our life. She was a quiet girl, a proud girl, and a very loyal girl. What a girl. What a special girl. No matter how subdued, she was very much part of our lives.

I decided that I needed to make a Cleo Pillow. One that lay amongst the pillows and the cushions that she loved to lounge upon the couch area. Sometimes the pillow takes away our breath....

as we imagine her there.

Oh, Cleo. We miss you. And, we love you. We hope that you are basking in the sun that is kitty-paradise with your soulmate Sam in the most perfect sun spot of love. Love to you.

So sweet. My cat did something similar when I my dog died. Broke my heart even more to watch my kitty mourn. Thinking of you all!

Oh, how sad. Our pets (furry children) sure have a special place in our family and hearts - leaving a hole when they're gone. It's so hard to see the other pet siblings mourn for their loved one - heart-breaking.

Cleo was a lovely kitty & surely she lived a wonderful life of love and affection. You were a good mom to her.

Hugs to you (and Iris)...

Instead of "semi wordless Wednesday" the title should be "tearful Wednesday" as this touching post is certainly a trear jerker for me.

Love to you guys and to Cleo.

What a heartfelt, poignant idea, to memorialize Cleo in the spot she cherished. Very touching. Very.

Friend, that is the sweetest tribute. I'm having a hard time right now as my old lady dog had a difficult time across country. She is ok now, but I know we are only preparing for the expected within the next year or soooo....the pillow is perfect.

I can't think of anything to write that will comfort you. You know I just went through this with Max in October and then recently lost my grandmother, but I am thinking of you and sending you thoughts of comfort.

I still get in the far left lane and don't look at the Washington Ave. exit when going down 880. I'll never take another of my cats THERE. I remember what you said about that place, too, and PTSD.

If you want to email me privately or call to talk about Cleo, please feel free to do so.

Seeing that pic of Iris curled up by her carrier just brought this big lump to my throat.

I'm so sorry. When I imagine life without Gambit or The Boob, I just cannot fathom the depth of the hole it would leave in my heart.

Our Nick passed on almost 2 years ago. I can still remember the first day I met him- a great grey ball of fluff scrambling towards me across the top of the animal shelter cages, mewing with an urgency that he never ever again had. At that moment, I understood love at first sight! He enriched our lives so much... just like Cleo has done for yours. The loss is so hard- even though I guess we expect it from the start. You will always have her memories to cherish. It does get easier with time, like everything else, but there are still days I expect him to come around the corner.
