I've Got Finals!

And, I'm cramming.

My final 2 quilt blocks are due tonight - for my last beginners quiliting class (although I still feel like quite the newby). It will be such a relief to be finished with this class. The Fridays from 6-9 pm was getting a little old to be quite honest.

The top two pics are of the "Mother's Dream" block. I really love how it turned out. My sister helped me choose the colors. The sewing went pretty well - but there were a whole lot of "intersections" and that got a bit tricky. The "Mother's Dream" is my most red block of them all.

Below is the beginnings of the last square. The "Basket". This one is probably my least favorite of them all. Its just a little prissy or something. I kinda rushed through it a bit & messed up the points at the top/bottom edges. I could give a rip, actually, it is DONE-ZO...and that is a very good thing. I may end up doing something different to replace the basket - or I may live with it as is.
We'll see........

Final-Final.....

Tonight we'll look at all of our blocks together & choose the background fabrics to "sash" them into one piece. I've got my eye on a couple things...we'll see what the teacher thinks.

Next up - Bai Jia Bei. I'm ready to start cuttin' & sewing that bad boy. How hard can it really be, right?

I'm all warmed up now.

Bring it.

Oh wow....I am very impressed with watching you.

At the same time I am feeling less confident about doing Jadyn's quilt on my own....whew, that's a lot of high-detail work!

I am pretty sure, ok, totally sure, I'll stay away from quilting!!! Looks really pretty but I am way too anal!!!
Stick with cake decorating. If it looks like crap, you just eat it (0:

Holly comolie girl!! If you are a beginner making something like that, wait til quilt number 2. You did an amazing job! I just did regular old square blocks and sewed them by hand sitting on my couch. I just sewed each one together as they came in the mail.

Good work, its going to be such a nice keepsake for "buttercup"

Looks good from this side of things!! I will be following your lead in the spring and I'm already starting to get cold sweats about it. Please tell me it's not as hard as it looks. :)

First your quilt blocks are great. Really like the colors. Second, just saw your comment over on Wee Wonderfuls about the Target cut-outs. Yes, it is Target that has them. But, they are in odd parts of the store, not with the Christmas stuff. Have found them near the candy where they keep the seasonal things usually near the front of most stores.

Great job Wendy. I will be happy just to collect all the squares. Then, hopefully I can move on to the quilt making part. Keep up the good work. :)

I was going to take a beginners quilting class, now I'm SCARED! I am doing mine pretty basic, I can't even imagine how long it takes to make one of those blocks! But hey, it could be a good thing, the time would pass before you know it!

All looks great. You are brave to dive into the OHGWQ. I will watch and see how you do so I can gain strength to start mine.
