Making cute things.
If you haven't already, you should definitely visit Wee Wonderfuls. Hillary Lang is the designer of this very cute pattern for Kitty, Bunny and Bear. She most definitely is an artisan of cuteness.
This project has been brewing around in my thoughts for some time. I bought the pattern this summer and had a few fabrics in mind. Then I got all consumed with the quilting class. As the holidays approached, my inspiration kicked into gear...time to make the bears! What began as a simple, little Christmas gift plan for my neice and BabyZ eventually spilled into a level of crafting hypomania that neither I nor the Kenmore could have imagined.
Beginnings of BabyZ's Kitty:
Voodoo Kitty:
Kitty's Friends:
In total, I think that I made....hmmmm.....about.....eleven of these suckers. Talk about rabbits multiplying.
The dark brown bear above with the blue/white/red craziness in the top pic went to my incredible neice. I gave one to Julie. I gave one to my local DTC buddy, Jen. One is earmarked for my friend who is expecting any day now. Of course, Mom wanted one after she saw the ones for the girls...hers is the kitty with the Asian umbrella print below:
Finally, here is BabyZ's Kitty...the very first one that I made:
I realize that this is craziness, I do.
However, keeping busy and making so much cuteness really does something for the mood. At least it does for me.
I'm also thinking of it as a bit of a warmup for the Bai Jia Bei Marathon that looms. Question is: am I training for the event - or simply engaged in an elaborate game of dodgeball?
Oh well, at least it has been fun procrastinating.

That's a way too cute way to procrastinate...love those :0)
Those are too cute!!! I love that you have them outdoors! We must immerse ourselves in these things for our own sanity (why do you think I have done so many closets?) so that we can prevent those pesky blahs from creeping in.
Okay, those are really cute! I love the fabrics you used.
Those are just too cute! I am also a huge fan of wee wonderfuls. That woman is just amazing!

Those are FANTASTIC! I don't think it's crazy at all. I got so wrapped up in my quilt squares and wishes these past couple of weekends, that I think craft projects are the way to go! I don't know if I'm ready for a sewing machine yet...
And I love the ruler fabric -- I almost got that for the quilt swap!
Holy shit, those are some cute critters ya got there. I just love 'em. They're oozing with personality.
I love the outfits on them!!
They are VERY cute!!
Craft away...
Totally cute! Wish I could sew.
Keep smilin!
Super cute!! Thanks for sharing! Are you going to do Shelba's monthly craft challenge?
So cute! Buttons must have one too! I'll have to try my hand at sewing again.
Oh my gosh, those are CUTE!! Are you selling them??? If not, you should!
Yes, they are really cute. And I should know because my Julie has one in her crib. Well, HAD one in her crib. She is now banded from toys in the crib (even cute soft rabbit) for reasons I won't go into.
And she did sleep through the night again. My sweet pumpkin baby is back....
You really went to town! That rules. Something cute and stuffed is next on my to-do list.
OMG, how much fun are they! I think even I could handle making one of those (after school's out, of course).
You're so darn crafty. Great fabrics too. Martha Stewart would be proud.
Very cute. I have to say I am playing dodgeball. I canot even get my brain around the work that is needed for the quilt.
It's dodgeball for sure, but oh so cool. They remind me of the ugly dolls, these so so cool stuffed dolls that are all kind of a little 'off' but fantastic. If you want the link, let me know.
Ok, I HAD to post a second time, for fear someone thought I was picking on you.
I love these dolls for all they are not, they are not commercial perfect barbies... they are a little of each of us.

I guessed at the name in the previous post...
Totally and awesomely cute. I would have been addicted to making them. I actually called my local craft place to sign up for a sewing class just this morning and they told me they no longer offer classes!!! Now what's a girl with some adorable little bunnies to make to do? lol...
Oh, Oh, Oh! I want, want, want! One of those would be BFFs w/ my Moxi Ugly Doll.
Damn I wish I could sew!
Your envious pal,
DSue
Wzgirl, those are cute. You are so very crafty. I love the fabrics and the outdoor pictures of the dolls.
